Ceramic sharpening rods are used to maintain the blades edge between whetstone sharpening. we recommend using this ceramic rod regularly to ensure your blade remains razor-sharp and free of burrs. this ceramic sharpening rod will not sharpen your knife if it is completely blunt or damaged as it is more of a maintenance tool. to repair damaged knives, we strongly recommend the use of a whetstone. global knives are sharpened at a 15-degree angle in the factory, and we recommend sharpening at this angle for best results.
